The World According to the Peevish Kitty

All right Virtual Movie Night Peeps… May’s movie was a good comfy couch night. So what are we watching for June? Anyone have any suggestions?
I have a couple in mind. The one I really want to watch is a classic, way, way old… but I think it was tafel who said she wouldn’t watch a black & white movie, so I will have to check and see if it’s available colourized!
Leave your suggestions in the comments.
A Room With a View with Daniel Day Lewis
Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis
We could watch both and compare his characters. One icky, and one delicious.
Or Enchanted April, Fearless, Philadelphia Story (1940), oh, I don’t know. I’d rather watch something I haven’t seen.
I’d go in for Enchanted April, but only because I have waited 10 years to own a copy (FINALLY!)
But I kind of want to see something I haven’t seen yet, too. I was thinking The African Queen, but it’s in black and white! Or maybe Vertigo or Dial M for Murder.
Also I will put forth: Bottle Shock, Milk, A Man For All Seasons, Whip It, Possession, Slumdog Millionaire… That’s good for starters, no?
Oh! Oh! Oh! the original ‘The man who knew too much’ (1956) or Gaslight (1944)
I’m up for most of your suggestions, except I’ve heard Slumdog Millionaire was very violent???
Dunno, is it violent? I know nothing about it, other than it was one of those movies that everyone talked about that I have not seen yet. Okay, scratch that!
I keep meaning to rent Whip It… haven’t seen Milk either, or Enchanted April. And if you pick a b&w I will deal. Heh. My issue with The African Queen would more likely be along the lines of, anything made in 1951 that references Africa, even peripherally, might make me yell at the television. But I know nothing about the movie so perhaps it is fine.
Fair enough. I had not thought of that. So no African Queen!
Narrowing it down…
@ Tafel, African Queen was really boring, you aren’t missing much. I know others would disagree with me, but who cares.
Dude. You just called the movie I want to see BORING.
I AM SO FLOUNCING OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW. FLOUNCE!!
@ Cinn. I’m laughing so hard right now because I actually woke up last night and thought ‘Hmmm…I did watch that movie when I was 13, maybe I should see it again and form an adult opinion.’
I’m sorry, now will you stop flouncing and come back?
Alright. I’ll come back.
But I’m still going to look at you like this >_>
I’m impervious to glares like that. IMPERVIOUS. I have a 6 year old girl.
Ooh yes. I had forgotten. You have a SUPERPOWER!
Um….can I play too?
@Rana — Of course you can. I’ll post June’s movie this week.
Ok I’m excited and if I may – if we are talking B & W films Casablanca is always one of my Favourites…
Whip it and Milk were excellent so you can’t go wrong there and I would watch again
My infreguent hand is up:
Cold Comfort Farm.
If not June, then someday.
@Miss Moorcroft — Ooh, I want to see that one. Since June will be “Whip It” we should keep it in mind for future nights.
