That Baby’s nap schedule has been ass. We all know it.
But it has its upsides.
When she’s tired, she has recently enjoyed sitting on the sofa and watching School House Rock. YEA! WOW! HURRAY! (as they say in “Interjections!”) Right now, we are getting our Grammar Rock groove on with “Conjunction Junction” and “Interjections” and “Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here.” I grew up on these cartoons, and I remember the songs all these years later. I love them with all my heart. I. AM. SO. HAPPY.
And I love that she is trying to say all the interjections.
Ahhhh, School House Rock, how I miss you! I think my faves were Beans & Rice & also I Hanker for a Hunk of Cheese. Or maybe I’m thinking of something else.
Even though I’m Canadian, “I’m Just a Bill” (“yeah, I’m only a bill, and I’m waiting here on Capitol Hill” – something like that) was my favourite. I was so happy every time for Bill to become a Law! Is Schoolhouse Rock still on TV? Or is there a DVD or something?
They’re out on DVD. I am not sure if they are still on TV, but they came out with the complete set a few years back.
The grammar ones are totally my favourites, although I’m another CDN who knows the US ones well. Like the one about the Preamble to the US Constitution, almost by heart!
The day after Yonas got his 18 month shots was the one and only time he snuggled with me on the couch through a whole movie…so yeah it sucked having him feverish and ill but it had it’s upsides too
Hoping The Baby gets back to her schedule soon. Mommies need the break not just to get things done but to keep their sanity too!
And now I’m going to have Conjunction Junction stuck in my head aaalll day.
They recently released some environmental ones too – Schoolhouse Rock Earth I think – Sport had the DVD from the library.
